Government & Industry Relations
Krooth & Altman is favorably positioned because of its history, reputation, expertise and location to participate within the national housing and health care industries, and to represent clients before the executive and legislative branches of the Federal Government in real estate capital finance matters. The firm is actively engaged in Congressional work, in administrative and regulatory issues with Federal agencies and in dealings with the secondary mortgage market agencies.
The firm has been instrumental in structuring many of the Federal government’s major legislative initiatives in the housing field, dating back to the New Deal era and the National Housing Act. Today, K&A represents clients before U.S. government agencies and senior government officials in connection with Federal housing and health care finance programs. For example, the firm’s work as counsel to the Committee on Healthcare Financing has contributed to the preservation and improvement of Federal programs for health care facilities, and has constructively influenced housing policies and programs as well.
Attorneys at the firm are frequent speakers and panelists at industry and professional conferences and seminars. The firm participates in the activities of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, the National Association of Homebuilders, the National Association of Realtors, the National Housing Conference, the National Multi-Housing Council, and other housing and real estate trade associations at the Federal, State and local levels.
